Been around but never introduced properly

I've been around on the forum for a little bit, lots of great help here, trying to help out where I can, but never posted an introduction. We have an '05 KJ with the 3.7 and manual 6 speed NSG370 in it. Been a good little libby. currently sitting at 275k miles, currently on original powertrain...

    Hood year compatibility?

Anyone know if hoods are compatible through all KJ years (02-07)? The '05 had a highway "meeting" with a deer and now I "get" to do some body work on it and need to replace the hood, but I'm not sure if the earlier '02-'04 works with an '05 (I'm assuming the '05-07 share hoods since they share...

    Issues with blue smoke tailpipe.

Blue smoke is usually a sign of burning oil. Could be from valve seals, rings, head gasket, pcv...when did you last change the PCV? Id start there and then move to a compression test to try and ID where oil is getting into the combustion chamber. Is it an ongoing thing, or was it only that one...

Oil leak - rear main seal?

My recent situation was similar to yours though maybe not as bad. I was adding a quart every 500-750 miles, no dripping while parked but lots of oily grime buildup and wet spots. I had known wet leaks on the front of the passenger valve cover, pressure sending unit, and crank sensor. With...

Oil leak - rear main seal?

Another possibility is a timing chain cover leak, I think i have a small timing chain cover leak on my 05 but its its not bad enough to fix right now.

    2002 V6 spark plugs

Nope, you shouldn't, i use just a standard spark plug socket on my 05 3.7L and it works fine. You will need an extension though to reach the plugs

    ECM failing?

Just to follow up, this was the ECM. I traced and continuity tested as many connections related to this issue as I could and found no issues. Finally I got frustrated with finding nothing I just jumpped into a my suspicion of the ECM, found reman ECM and had it programmed for my libby #'s, and...

Oil leak - rear main seal?

Did you check the crank sensor? Ive had an oil leak there, it shouldn't leak a lot from there, but an easy thing to check and you can look around the pan seal while you're down there. Otherwise it sounds like the oil pan to me. I feel your pain on that, I just went through changing it too.
