Likely your front seal has been loooongg since replaced, so this is for anyone else out there.
GYRO, JeepJeepster, and GA05KJ all have the right idea. 3 jaw puller, or nothing. That fever for the Vevor ain' doin' shiii.
I used:
ABN 4225 Harmonic Damper Pulley Puller 6-Piece Set for Harmonic Balancer Removal on Chrysler, GM, Mitsubishi Vehicles
NO LONGER AVAILABLE ON AMAZON (I paid $33 in 2023), so you can get a ching-chong $28 copy from Amazon or a green Taiwanese OEMTOOLS 25090 for $45 + $5 for next day home delivery from AUTOZONE. A discount code might be available, too to make it ~$5 less.
IMPORTANT TO USE AN INSTALLER TOOL so you do not overdrive the pulley onto the tapered crankshaft mounting stub, past the finely finished seal surface AND so your accesories serpentine belt is ALIGNED. Just a little important. I used a long pulley holder tool with screw-in posts, too.
OEM TOOLS 37306 Long Reach Installer
Amazon $40, 2 day delivery with Prime. Autozone no longer sells this.
A Gearoll CR-GZ026 in blue box from Amazon for $28 will work just fine.
I saw a Chinahh-Russian kit Acymner ZH-0730-01 in a blue box for $19 at Amazon, same 2 day shipping, since you like saving money and this is a one or two-time-use kind of tool for anyone. I kinda feel dumb not buying the cheap-azz version.
I bought the OEM Tools, red-case 27306 set in 2023 for $38.
I just wanted the last of the Taiwanese made tools, so there goes $30.
You sure can leave a credit card number with AutoZone or your local auto parts store and get loaner tools, too.
I had my entire timing cover off, so it was easy for me to remove and install the seal(s) using a ball joint C press tool and cups. An OTC SPX 7249 BEAST. (Needed aluminum filled epoxy to repair erosion behind/under one of the coolant o ring type seals. Uuuf. New water pump. New belts. A new hose. A new heater core. A new coolant tank. New coil (one). New cylinder head. New gaskets and seals. Yeah.
