Hi guys,
Recently I started to feel a strong BOOM in my legs when shifting into reverse gear. It only happens when I'm in 4x4, in 2x4 it's not happens.
Today I crawled under the car and this is what I discovered. Do you think overhauling the driveshaft will help here? Or should the front diff be replaced?

I wouldn't jump to replacement of either just yet. Definitely doesn't look like a problem with the drive shaft. A little play when switching between forward and reverse at the diffrential yoke is normal. It's hard to say if that's too much. I would first check all mounting hardware and bushings for the front diff as well as fluid level and condition.

I think with the heat I'd stick with the thicker stuff 75w-140. Not synthetic. Have you had a chance to check mounts and bushings?

Lets see a picture of the back of that axle. My noise that sounded like the front differential actually came from the back cv on that axle, and that is one that is a wear item, not the front.

Hi , thanks for your answer, yesterday I film this video that contains both sides of the axle.
The jeep is turned off, transfer in neutral position and gear in neutral too.

I was talking about differential mounts. Here's a picture of a differential and its mounts. As you can see there are 3 brackets that both to the diffrential housing that have bushings. Check hardware and bushings. While you're there take a close look at the diffrential itself, they've been known to crack usually at the back where the drivshaft comes in.

I can barely see the boot on the rear shaft cv, do I see a tear? Also bang the rear up vs just twisting it.

I watched again. I think I see evidence of grease having leaked out the rear cv in the picture, and I kind of think I see some tears in the boot.
