Hey Guys,

Just a quick note to let you know that it's getting harder and harder to get parts for your baby out there. I don't mean you honey, I mean your JEEP!!!
Here's just an example and some suggestions you SHOULD try to extend the life of your Jeeps Liberty's steering system...

We are always upgrading our 2002 Jeep and recently the Mopar Power Steering units from Mopar were discontinued in 2019, (fact, directly from Mopar).
We managed to find the LAST (Reasonably Priced) ONE on RockAuto at a whopping price of $705.00 landed.

Power Steering Pump - Mopar (52088710AE)

Now there are lots of other OEM's out there, IOHO are crap!!!
We have already gone through 4 A1-Cardones, and 2 BBB power steering pumps, IOHO these are totally junk!
*****WARNING!!!****

The last one, the BBB, could not remain in the Jeep because it was leaking just after install, and we are not going to give you the part numbers for them because we would NOT want you to be out of time or money!
So, that said!!!

We would like to share with you a suggestion that may extend the life of your Jeep Liberty... A POWER STEERING FILTER
2002/2003 DO NOT come with filter for the power steering, never did, it's NOT even on the parts list at RockAuto, but we'll list the part number here for you to check them out:)
There are 2 sizes: 1) is a 5/8 and the other 2) is a 3/8
This is the ID of the hose, the filter goes onto the pump inline hose before hooking it up to the pump, just get another piece of hose to add this inline to you system.
Trust us this will get rid of the ****** crappy dirt, swarfs and other impurities in your power steering system, and hopefully extend the life of your power steering system.

NOTE: There are 3 ONLY power steering pumps left that we could find, last ones in the world, one in Japan: $2,700us, one in Eastern Europe: $1900US and one in France: $1300US. These 52088710AE pumps were previously sold, (up to 2019), by Mopar for only $220.00us.

These are Cardone Filter part numbers, (much better then nothing), Mopar does not sell these anymore, (Discontinued)

1) 5/8 Power Steering Filter (Add-On Type) Part #: SPN 200058F Line: Power Steering Pumps

2) 3/8 Power Steering Filter (Add-On Type) Part #: SPN 20P038F Line: Power Steering Pumps

Hope this helps ya:)
Not sure what your Liberty issue is. I have 4 Liberty's and 2 Grand Cherokee's. They have aftermarkets all over eBay under $100 and I have never had an issue with them!

Wow! Checked out this post for info on parts (thanks for the info @Phil2020 ) and found a bonus box of snarky childishness. Being a Jeep forum I guess I just assumed everyone here was all grown up. I stand corrected.

That's funny actually I'm 47. I thought the source of the snarky was the under 30. I'm from the south though. In the good ole days down here we made the world go round with a little bit of respect. I just saw somebody share a bit of info and what followed read like a disrespectful attack on them. I hate to think if I make the neighborly gesture of sharing something I'd have to go and defend myself for it. That's not me needing a safe space. Just saying if a dude can't post some info without getting that kind of response then I hardly think I'll be posting here. I'm new here so I'm trying to figure out the community. Y'all cool with snarky jerks? Cool with me. Enjoy! I found my way in I can find my way out. OR. I got an idea. How bout people act like grown ups and post some cool Jeep stuff we can all enjoy and leave the highschool drama in highschool.

While I agree to a point that it went a bit far , its still part of the game
Have you ever been on Pirate4x4 ? It will curl your toes LOL
But a bit of snarkiness is all in fun , almost 50 years ago I hung out with 5 old guys ( well the age I am now 68 , ) And they chased many away with good natured ribbing and a whole boat load of snark
Has nothing to do with high school at all or at least not in NORTHERN high schools

Well you can rest assured I've heard it all and dished it out every bit as much. I've been in construction since I was 17. That's 30 years of far more than snarky. I reckon this day and age we would probably get fired or worse. Just struck me wrong to see it on a forum. There's a whole wide world of strangers looking here for info and this fella shared a bit and his post turned into something ugly. If we were on a job site I probably would have been the first one to go there. I'm all about fun but darn! Don't shoot somebody down for posting on a forum. That's all I'm saying. We cool everybody?

I spent the first half of my adult life in SE North Carolina and my idols were the redneck good ol boy NASCAR guys. I tried to be like them but I didn’t have it in me. They adopted me as their mascot, it was the best time. I believe 04Liberty was just funnin with the OP when he pointed out other places to buy the pump, but the OP didn’t get it and started the snarkfest. Yes eventually 04 kicked back but what would you expect? Especially if he’s under 60.

I will reluctantly admit to wearing a Matt Kenseth hat for a time. I tried to live up to my obligation to be a redneck but alas I found myself bored watching them go roundy round. Please don't tell anyone around here! They'll take my redneck card!
