2003 Jeep Liberty Limited Edition 2WD - P0123

Hello JeepWorld! I am new to the forum and never posted.

I Inherited a 2003 Jeep Liberty Limited Ed 2WD with 70K miles. It is a pretty simple and clean car. I recently was driving home and once I enter our street, the car turns off. I cruised the car the to nearest sidewalk opening hard as **** to move the steering wheel. I then checked the oil and it was good, checked for any loose parts, all was good. The Liberty would turn on and then off by itself. Then after 10 minutes, it turned on and I slowly drove it home. After reading posts and watching youtube channels I replace the least expensive part, the Throttle positioning sensor (TPS). Replaced the sensor and it still shows a P0123 code. Any ideas of what else to check or has anyone else experienced something similar?

Check the IAC (idle air control valve near the throttle body). Might need to remove, gently clean with throttle body cleaner & soft toothbrush, and replace. If the vehicle can’t stay running without your foot on the gas, this is a good candidate.

Start checking all the wiring going to the TPS, MANY TIMES THAT IS WHAT CAUSES STUMBLING, HESITATION , SHUTTING OFF ETC

Mopar sensor only please. Did you align it properly?
You need to turn the TPS slightly clockwise to align the interior throttle tab, holding it inwards, then swing it back counter clockwise 1/4 inch aprox, to now tighten bolts back in.

@ifhoward -Thank you. I finally got some time to work on the car. I did clean all the parts as you mention but still the same issue. I am sorry about the little confusion the car does start now but it gives the P0123 error code. I purchased a standard TPS online and it still showed the error. I then read LibertyTC's message and purchased the Mopar brand TPS and it solved the issue. Thank you for the feedback.
