When replacing the stock muffler with a universal aftermarket one on my 05 liberty do I want a 2.5" centered inlet and a 2.5" offset outlet in a welded muffler that indicates its not reversible?

I believe for stock that’s correct I’m sure there’s lots of info on that on here somewhere if just looking for stock replacement but you can do 2.5 centre to centre MBRP sells a really good cat back kit that won’t hurt the wallet and sounds really nice
Just recently purchased a kit for myself for 350 from Toronto based web site after a buddy had shown me his new set up, I believe a upgrade never hurts. I was thoroughly impressed

I couldn't get the exact offsets I wanted in the $40 muffler I chose. Muffler is also shorter than stock. I went with offset in and center out, and a U-bend ($20; used half) to attach the original tailpipe.

What's noteworthy is the stock muffler necks down to 2-1/4" on both sides, but the stock tailpipe itself is mandrel-bent 2-1/2".

I ended up going with a 2.5 center in and offset out and turn down just before the axle, sounds great I was pleased with the results
