Hey guys,
So I've been browsing around Craigslist and I found a 05 crd and I wanted to know if you guys recommend it or not. Me living in New Hampshire, I like to go mudding a lot and my 3.7 is good most of the time but other times it bogs. So I don't know what I should do.
Thank you in advance,
Xavier

What has the '05 CRD you're looking at had done to it? What does it need? Lots of mod$ to do to keep them together. You might be happier with what you have.

I agree with turbodiesel here.^^^

You never know why this CRD was put on the market...owner may have known of lots of potential problems such as timing belt due for renewal or plenty other issues.

I love my 2002 Export 2.5 CRD to bits....best vehicle I have ever had.

But at the time I bought it diesel here in SA was much cheaper than petrol....this is no longer the case and diesel vehicles are going onto the banned list in lots of countries in the next few years....may happen here although I doubt it as pollution rules here are very lax and seldom applied!

If you already have 3.7 KJ I would add to it whatever you need to make it a better off-road vehicle and keep it.

I've read enough bad experiences about the VM Motori engine that I'm not interested in paying the significant price-premium to get one.

The V6 has been good to us. You can wring every last bit out of it with the 6spd manual. Regear the axles lower if you need more zoot.

I would just regear yours. Go up to 4.10s.

What 6 speed came with my year? Because if that's the case I'll just convert to stick. It'll be more expensive than just rebuilding though

Started in '05. Used in the KK also.

A different 6-speed came in the Dakota, but may work too.
