any way to make my electric fan work better?

Hey guys!

I am on a mission....i want to modify my cooling system to the max.

I have a 3 row rad. a mishimoto thermostat and a severe duty fan clutch.

and sure- i am happy with it.

living in a warm climate- my kj already had the so called heavy duty cooling package- but there is one more thing to do (and it's a direct result of me being bored and having too much free time) - i want to make the electric fan work better.

When i say better i mean 2 things: faster (or should i say more efficient) - and i want it to start working sooner.

on my previous rig i simply mounted a HUGE spal fan in front of the rad- so no problems there....i could flip the switch and get instant cooling - but there is no room in the kj for that - plus why mount an extra electric fan when i have an electric fan....

so any ideas? maybe change the control unit?

Wow.. Do you have a part number for that fan clutch? I'm thinking you have a great idea about maximizing cooling!

you can always hard wire your electric fan.
since you have an 06, you would have the 2 speed fan so hard wire it so the high speed comes on.

The other thing is even though you have the clutch fan, is it a severe duty one?
I know NAPA had a HD and a SD clutch fan. The SD clutch engages at a lower temperature than the HD I think.

other than that, I think you could add those misters.

Does it make a pretty noticeable difference in temp? I feel like mine blows cold enough air without even a.c. because I've got hoat now with a brand new mopar rad, I probly could disconnect my a.c. or bypass it if that clutch works well enough!?!

I have an 02 Liberty Ltd 3.7, will that model take a 3 row Radiator ? I'm in Arizona heat and I see my temp gauge go past the mid range a little while in traffic.

Add HD cooling electric fan and shroud but do not add the mechanical clutch fan,instead use a direct drive fan(no clutch).

The Hayden 2905 is the Severe duty. My parts store found it listed under the CRD liberty.

Hayden 2736 is the Heavy Duty, and was listed as the only option for the v6 3.7.

I believe the difference is that the 2905 severe duty clutch activates (tightens up?) at a lower temp vs. the 2736.

As far as actual effect on temperatures one vs. the other, I cannot say. I went straight to severe duty when I installed HD cooling.

Climbing up to Eisenhower tunnel,at 11,000+ feet,with a 6400 lbs KJ with a stock 3.7 and stock cooling system(non-HD cooling,just electric fan) with outside temps in the 70's I barely touched 224 degrees and that is 8+ miles at 4500+rpm's.

Not really since the electric cooling fan does not come on until 219 degrees.The needle for the temp gauge will move to 3/4 at 229 degrees.I have my Edge CTS monitor warning set to 225 degrees and It's never set the alarm off in years.

For those with HD cooling the OE clutch does not "lock" till 230 degrees.

178 degrees - 229 degrees.

So since it's really hot in Phoenix, is there a 2 or 3 row radiator I can replace mine with.
