Been a few that have requested a how to on installing the JBA Bolt on Tri-Link.
So here goes , or I'll try and explain, I'm one of those who doesn't read nor do How to's :emotions34::icon_razz:
Tools,
15 and 21 MM sockets and ratchet
Jack and jackstands (although I normally don't use them since you can just roll underneath to install )
* If lifting then install jackstands under the axle housing ( installing them under frame diff would hang down and would make it harder to install, IMO )
* So now remove the KJ " balls " ( vibration dampener on the rear diff ) using 15 mm socket
* After removing them loosing the front tri-link bolts which are 15 mm as well.
* 3 bolts that hold the bracket on the diff are 21 mm , these can be a real *itch to remove at times so be ready.
* Now loosen the LCA bolts they are 21mm
* Now you are ready to install the JBA Bolt on 4 link
* Fairly straight forward mount the rear bracket,
* Cut and install the two arms ( they come longer and you'll need cut them down some depending on what height you are .
* I ran mine on 4.5 inch lift about 18-18.5 inch eye to eye to get the angles I wanted your's will be different depending on lift. Forget now on the measurements on the 03 right now.
* Use loc-tite on the bolts into the rear diff.
Bolt everything back up and if have the rear diff hanging down drop on ground and tighten the rear LCA's .
I think thats about it, If I remember anything I'll add.
Will take pics next time I'm under mine
Now take out and enjoy, you'll notice a difference from the get-go !
Oh to to cut them just grab your Metabo Angle Grinder and then round the edges on your bench mounted grinder
