Hey y'all,

Yesterday I purchased a '05 Liberty Renegade 4x4 with about 84,000 miles on it. I am coming from a (stolen) Ford F-250, and I know almost nothing about jeeps. I am really looking forward to learning more about jeeps and I hope to do some work on it(tires, lift, etc). Any tips, tricks or advice would be more than welcome! This will be both a daily driver and off-road vehicle so I hope to find a good balance between the two.

Thanks for the responses. A few questions right off the bat.

Oil, I had been using mobile 1 synthetic on my truck, is there a preferred brand or oil?

Lift vs leveling, I need to get new tires soon and would rather get a lift first then buy tires to fit. I have no plans of major off road/crawling so is a leveling kit a good idea or just spend the money for a 3" lift? Any particular brands to look at or stay away from?

thanks

AHHHH another oil question.....:happy175:
Mobil 1 is great IMO, I've used it for years, used it in my 04 I bought new and has over 220,000 miles on it so far.
NOW on to the best subject
Leveling?? Not worth it since I'll bet your springs have already sagged a bunch ( they all do )
So JeepinByAl
OME full spring lift ( with shocks) is a great , can get to 3 inches very easy with the OME 927 front springs, add a 1/4 inch top plate and there ya have 3 inches of lift over new stock height
for the rear 948 springs and one extra upper isolator per side.
Ride and handling will be 50 times better than it was brand new stock, trust me. Have never had anyone say they disliked the ride after lifting theirs
There is also a TM econo lift that nets you 3.5 inches and has the JBA UCAs etc as well included
OR if you want the ultimate this is what I just installed on my current build fully adjustable shocks for rebound and compression and fronts are adjustable height wise as well

By the way here is my 03 with 81,000 miles on it when I got it a few months ago
Sat 1.5 inches lower than new stock height , one owner, never off the pavement in its life
( after addition of Matrix Brush Guard )
Now after 2.5 inches of lift
