Cleaned out the interior today after work...finally...then did all the windows, inside & out. I can see! !

Then I started working on mounting my big old 13.5' kayak on my little 10' trailer. Lol!

Found out what may have caused the terrible horrible screeching noise at low speeds and that I may have accidentally cured it. Come to find out there is something with the front brake pad clips that if something gets lodged in there like a small pebble etc... causes the screeching at low speeds. Another Liberty came in earlier in the week with the same noise coincidentally it was the front right brake pad causing it. After having removed my the front right brake caliper to deal with the stud issue I have noticed the noise is gone. Since the pad popped out when I was dealing with trying to put new studs in Monday.

I've got a low speed chirp/click on my drivers side that has developed this week. I'm wondering if something like this could be the culprit. If you brake hard no noise but gentle braking yields a rhythmic chirp or clicking noise. Definitely the brakes but they are not very old. Have to pull the wheel on Monday when I get back from a very brief trip to Albany.

Ah the old two birds with one stone repair. Or do I mean two stones with one bird.

Quite possibly that could be the case. I just found it stupid odd it had happened after the hitch was put on. I initially had though it was the rear lower control arms despite being new (Recall) because of how the noise was occurring at low speeds and typically when the Jeep was a little bouncy but having looked back the noise wouldn't have been consistent steady with the control arms moving but in the easiest way to explain ''Waves'' Like an old rusty door hinge in a breeze.

Stones, yeah I like stones. I like Bullets more.

Must Be Fall!

A repeat of last year...
I lift the hood tonight and notice an acorn and chestnut sitting in the grooves on the plastic manifold. Dang... he want his dinner softened & heated!
SO I remove the nuts and place a large moth ball in it's place hoping the smell will deter the critter!
I place more mothballs around the Jeep..Any other ideas..??? Mouse/Rat trap?
I mean after all you don't want critter around at all or to munch on under hood wiring right !!

Time for drastic measures! :icon_lol:

Removed the rear driver side window regulator.
The plastic window bracket broke off from the cable.

I have packing tape holding the glass up.
I hope that's good enough and wont crash.
Have to go hunt for cardboard to place below the glass.

scraped up my knuckles too some how in the process. bah....

Drove it in to Cleveland and saw a Lake Erie Monsters hockey game (AHL). Had a nice gal with me for company, too. ;)

Put a rag soaked in ammonia in a plastic milk jug with the lid cut off under the hood in a safe place. Critters hate the smell works for critters getting in to your garbage cans too.

Did not feel like doing the oil change this weekend. Let shop do it for me (lazy)
It is a bit of a PITA with skids.....
Now I always...Cover the steering bushing first!
Oil in there will eventually destroy them. I got new bushings & want to keep it that way!

Luckily the duct tape worked to cover the bushing. I still used soap & water after though for good measure.
Nice to have clean Mobil 1 synthetic & Filter again!
