Wind deflectors..........

Hi All, Just wondering if anyone has good or bad reports over wind deflectors for the windows? Are the "In channel" ones best or the self adhesive ones? Any wind roar from them? Would appreciate any photos of fronts only and front and rears. Fancying some black tinted ones but a lot of people over here in the UK only supply light tints for this "Health and safety" conscious world we live in!! p: I dont find the need to consider low flying aircraft when I am turning left or right hence looking for black ones! I have the in-channels and they look a lot better than the external stick ons IMO. The external sticks ons don't blend into the vehicles body like the in-channels do.

A lot of people also complain about the in-channels not covering the solid section of the window on the back doors BUT why put a visor over a window that doesn't open?

They were the external adhesive ones since i didn't have a choice, and I don't think they look bad at all. No loud wind roar. In fact, I like to crack the windows on the highway or when it's raining. It lets air in without a lot of noise and keeps water out.

I've always had all 4, so that's all you're really going to see. They're black, and they DO increase the size of your blind spot because of how much below the top of the window they extend.

However, I have never found this to be a problem at all.

Ditto on the in-channel ones. Mine are the weathertech in-channel ones also. They work good.

i bought set of in channel visors and they were ok, they made the windows tough to roll up, i could see the power motors struggling.

Havn't had any trouble with my Weathertech in-channel vent visors and they have been installed for at least 5 years now.

Agreed.
Mine are from AVS and never had an issue with window speed.

They're translucent. Not exactly transparent. I never found it a problem.

Hi Steve,

bought mine off Ebay ( shipper over from Poland for £29.00 set of 4 front and back). They have a slight tint to them and fit okay, you most add the clip on to keep them in place but apart from that no problem. The one's I bought have also a cut out for when the mirror are folded back. Only point it seamed to give a bit more wind noise when the window was opened, but that might just be an illusion.

In channels look goofy IMO
Only cover part of the rear window area so looks like something is missing
Mine have been on since 2004 and no issues

Thanks to all for the replies. Might be a bit of a dumb question but regarding the "In channel" ones, what secures them and do they actually fit in the window channel groove, i.e. The window rubs on them when closing the last half inch or do they go between the rubber and door top? An adhesive Strip. They go into top groove for the window.The Window does slightly rub when going up and down but nothing you would notice and doesn't effect it's performance.


Another bonus is the window visor won't fly off so easily with in-channels if the adhesive strips starts to fail. I state that b/c I had one fly off a vehicle in front me today and it was an external stick-on.

That's what I like about the stick on version.
Not like I really need them 'cause I usually have the A/C on if it's hot out.
But they look cool enough to own a set for our Rig.

What I'd really like are those huge Ralley style Blasters (As they were once called)
Then you can roll the window down lower and get more fresh air. Also excellent off road 'cause you can hang your head right out the window without getting soaked when it's ****** out..

Cant find them anywhere! Damn!!!

I found some of the ones that you like
Had them hanging on the wall of a 4 wheel drive shop
Had all different models etc
Of course that was in Dodoma Tanzania , they still are the hot ticket over there :Bye:
