I heard it's not a good idea to use your hitch for recovery.
Personally I would've thought it would be fine - just read somewhere that it's not

Thanks. I'll look into that.

Edit*. Read a thread on another 4x4 site. Basically says as long as your not using a snatch block it's "ok" but the tow bar is for towing not recovery and should be done in only extreme cases

Those look awesome!!

Looking at my hitch...

If I used it for a recovery point, I would be OK pulling on it at it's rated load if I pulled straight in line with it. Not up, not down, and certainly not sideways.
If I pulled sideways, it looks like it would fold like cheap lawn furniture.
