Decided to put a 2 1/2 in. lift kit on my wife's 02 KJ. Went with the Rusty's full coil suspension lift & 1/4 inch top plate to level it out, money wasn't an issue but just thought would experiment with them first to see how it would hold up & if we would even like it. It is still her daily driver so don't do much offroading with it. So far, have not had any problems with it- she loves how it looks, & drives better than with stock. Did have to use a couple of washers on the rear lower shock mount to shim it. After about 6 months it has only settled a 1/4 inch, currently sitting at 21 1/4 all four corners.

Not being a jerk, but Good luck with the Rustys
spring rate is low, same as stock. rear shocks are not that good and fit poorly. Out of 20 KJ lifts I have installed one Rustys, after 20,000 miles its back to stock height.

Hey Tom- that's ok. Like I posted, this was just kind of an experiment; after reading all the posts about lift kits, & the problems some people were having with popping & squeaking noises, or other issues, just wanted to test the waters. This was the first lift kit I have put on, & wanted to see how the Jeep suspension was going to react to being lifted. So far no problems, & if it does start to sag, no big deal- can switch to something else next time, may choose something else for the 07 KJ, now that I know how easy the Rustys lift was to install.

Look good what tires do you have on your jeep?

Those are 245/75/16 Maxxis Buckshot Mudders, I got a really good deal on them at Big O Tires and I could not pass it up.I did not want that aggressive of a tire but they did very good this winter in all the ice and snow that we got.

Just thought i'd give an update on our lift. After one year and 7,000 miles, it's still looking good and rides like it did when I installed it. Current measurement is 21 1/8 inches front and rear so it has settled 1/8 in the last 6 months. I purchased the lift from Rustys while it on sale and so far it has been worth every penny. My wife and I are very happy with it.

Buckshot Mudders, what a great name for a tire! I have the OME suspension on for a little over a year and it is sitting at 21" Front.

Rustys are good for 15-18000 from what I've seen personally and read about before there's enough sag you have to swap them out. Only Rustys I installed ( against my better judgement but thats what the guy wanted) made it 20,000 but was back to within 1/2 inch of stock height by then

So far it's holding up, but with only 7,000mi of on road driving in a year, it should. If it last 20,000 miles that wil be 3 years, I will have felt like I got my moneys worth out of it. This is a current photo.

You may have less sagging,or take alot longer(50k or so) since your pretty stock(no armor and such).Start flexing alot and adding weight and that is when they sag fast.

With no more than what you drive it I'd put it up on jackstands and it would last forever

Two years, still rides great, measured it (the lift) this morning just a hair over 21 inches.
