Cant find my last post so Im gunna make a new one.

Ive got this thud sound when I hit bumps and im pretty sure its ball joints or shocks. Id like to replace both anyway because their 7 years old and the previous owner must have lived on a dirt road or in a forest lol. So while im at it I might as well replace all the stock suspension right? (front and rear). And if im doing all that then it would be a great time for a small lift also, right??:icon_lol: what price range would I be looking at for maybe just a 1-2 inch lift keeping it as stock and cheap as possible while still replacing all the worn out suspension parts? and with the right instructions, could i do it at home. This is my third KJ/fourth jeep and damnit im gunna lift it! haha

Best springs are the OME, just go with 927 front/ 948 rear with either OME or Bilstein shock ( 4 springs-4 shocks less than 700) You'll have almost that amount in OEM parts and will not last half as long as the OME springs
Pretty easy to do if you've done anything mecanical at all. Lots of writeup here and on LOST. Or there are some great people down on Ohio who have done a few that maybe able to provide some assistance:shrug:

Do those ome springs and shocks give you a lift or are they just stock replacements. Also looking to replace mine with a small lift.

Thats all you need? I saw a kit online but it included other parts for the ome 1.5 inch lift.

I'm looking at doing the same thing, probably just replace my stock parts with OME all the way around. I don't completely understand the whole suspension thing but I'm learning, slowly, with the help of patient explanations on this forum. I think (and I may have mislearned something) that the OME kit comes with everything you need unless you want to buy more stuff for a bigger lift... Don't take my word for it though, wait for someone smart to answer :)

No, you will also need few hockey pucks as a bumpstop for rear, teraflex bumpstop for front, clevis shims or\and upper shims for front.

Depending on what you will get on this stage, then goes leveling. You might also need to use few more conduits\isolators on rear or front to get horizontal position.

There are hundreds of threads about lifting, here on forums. Read posts from tommudd and LibertyTC. You'll get much more understandable explanation there =)

ps: small addendum - if you are going only for a 1.5" then all you need is OME shocks and coils.

For normal everyday driving,
and just wanting to upgrade the factory suspension,
have a WAY better ride and handling
run a smaller tire not over a 245-75-16 tire
then yes you could just buy the OME springs AND OME shocks
and be done
ARB states that you do not have to have extra bumpstops running their shocks and springs together
NOW with that said, if you want more lift, plan to offroad a lot, go to different backspacing on the wheels, run a different type of shock besides OME then you need to look at running front and rear bumpstops etc
OR if you just want to have an little extra insurance that you will not stack your springs then you can still install longer front and rear bumpstops for under 50 bucks, cheap insurance really:shrug:

So if I do what tommudd said first with the OME springs and OME or Bilstein shocks, would that actually give me a small lift or just bring me back to stock height? also, whats the site that has the OME parts? Ive seen it but cant remember

Ran just what ARB sent me for about 5k and it was great. Just make sure you torque the hell out of your dust covers (or omit them) They are a noisy bunch...

Right before I added my 245\75s I added 1.5 more to the front and about 1 to the back with spacers. Bump stops wen on then as I moved past OMEs original design.

Then, yah need the control arms so it all lines up nicely.

IMHO and exactly what I did.
