Did you calculate for the Odometer being off because size of the tires?

Yes I did. I use my GPS for mileage calculations.

How closely does your GPS match your odometer when you make the calculation?

I try to have my GPS for every trip I go on, but sometimes it doesn't make it on, and also I may get to driving before its fully aquired satellites, which means over the course of a tank, I'll get a few miles on the tank that the GPS doesn't reflect. That might falsely give you a low mileage reading making your MPG's seem low.

I'd be curious to know what your curbweight is, apropos of your message further upthread about tire size and skids. Doesn't TJKJ claim an extra 1500lbs on his weight over stock, and I believe I recall he gets better mileage than you.

At the end of this trip, my trip meter in the cluster and the trip meter on my GPS were off by 8 miles.

Dude, i got 19mpg the other day on rolling hilly terrian, avg about 65mph with all the skids + boiler's under the front, my ARB, winch and a crapload of baggage and other stuff in the back and with 31x10.5 tires.

The motor ***** through a K&N CAI, sparks controlled by a Jet stage 1 and farts through an MBRP cat back free flow exhaust.

Bad plugs?? or its brick?? I think its just a brick...lol

Can't imagine. I'm guessing that Idaho08 is savvy enough to recognize when his idle would be suffering enough with bad plugs to cause a hypomileage situation. And I can't imagine his curb weight is worse than TJKJ's. Although those 08's KK's are a little more square. But even still. It's be cool if we could figure this out.

I only have 4,700 on my KK now, so the plugs are definitely not worn out.:D

I installed NGK Iridium plugs when it was brand new. I also have a K&N drop in air filter. Those are the only two things that I have changed with the motor.

Guess need to keep track of mine for awhile.I have always gotten worse than average MPG because of how I drive. But I now have CAI and free flowing muffler. My drive is short and up to max speed of 55. Maybe once a week onto freeway @70 for about 40 miles.I get about 15.5. That's just by math no GPS. I had at one time on a trip got almost 21.

I have an 08 with skids (including gas tank), Mopar Towing Package w/ the HD cooling elements, on stock tires and I get between 19.0 - 19.9 mpgs. My first tank when I got it was 16.35mpg, and once I started using the cruise and closed windows with very little ac (its unseasonably cool in Tx) I jumped up quite a bit. I have notices once you open your windows especially just the front 2 you feel the drag immediately. IMO the best thing you can do is set the cruise. I am fixing to upgrade to NGK plugs soon so i'm hoping to jump up a little bit to hit 20mpg. I am also looking at a meatier stock sized all terrain (BFGoodrichs AT) I hope to break even. Like i've stated before, Houston is flat. I drive in from the country and drive through down town so even with stop and go 5o'clock traffic I still get 19's and this tank I was running late a couple of days and got it up to 70 and usually my commute is 60mph so I figure thats what shaved a few miles off this tank. Best thing to do is GO THE SPEED LIMIT, get your speed kicks off something else. Every 5mphs you go over 65mph is another 5% fuel economy cut.

Oh and this past tank I got to play in the mud a little bit.

I notice a lot of people have asked about the Jet chip, but nobody seems to care. Would anyone with a Jet chip like to let us know about their experience?

No idea what the curb weight is.

I bought it 10 months ago, and only have 4,521 miles on it now. I am going on a trip tomorrow, and decided to fill up after work today. I went 103 miles, all in town driving, and from the last fill up, it took 9.3 gallons. I got approx. 11 miles per gallon.

I will be driving approx. 120-130 miles tomorrow, all freeway, so I'll post my results when I fill up again tomorrow.

It's a little over 4200 lbs from the factory...

OK, from what I gather, crap...LOL

So to start, Idaho08KK is getting such ****** mileage because he has less then 5K on his ride. Most KK's free up around 5K and really see a hike in gas mileage that continues till 7.5K to 10K. Second, you all must understand the KK is a bigger brick then the KJ. The KK is really a KJ with a box over it. Also, KK's have the drive by wire crap. SO even if our foot is off of the pedal, the computer may not shut the TB. There have been a few occasions where I have been coasting with my clutch IN and the engine RPM has been well over 1200K.....
