So i bought my liberty and the spare tire has a wheel lock on it... and unfortunately I do not have the key and the dealer doesn't have one that fits. Any ideas of how to get the lock off?

I've gotten old ones off with a pipe wrench before... otherwise, take it Discount Tire/Firestone/etc. Discount Tire removed one when I couldn't for $5.

Luckily you noticed this now and not when your stuck on the side of the road with a flat. But yeah check your center console and glove box. You can also check under the back seats or in any of the door storage pockets. If you can't find it, take it to a tire shop and ask them if they can remove it for ya.

By the way, (welcome)

Another point:
You could ask the parts department to order a wheel lock key for you with your VIN. The spare tire wheel lock does not typically change unless it's swapped out for a regular nut, so it should be no sweat.

on here
Those wheel locks are just a real big PIA. I have 2 sets in the garage collecting dust now.

If anybody wants my wheels and tires I hope they jack it up and take all 5. Then I will be forced to get some soft 8's and duratracks on it in a hurry....:D

Yeah and it says McGard on it. The card is about 3"x5"

Yep same here, when i bought mine i saw the spare had a wheel lock on it and i was like ahh crap i guess i will hammer that one off, but then when i got it home and was putting stuff in the back i noticed a black plastic pouch with something in it in the back passenger side cargo net, that little one by the rear power outlet, and sure enough it was the special socket and a 3x5 card in there to get a replacement. That reminds me i still haven't taken that card out of there for safe keeping i should do that, i had planned on tossing it in the safe at home so i never have to worry about it if i lose the one i have, but it doesn't come out unless i need to remove the spare as the other four on the KJ don't have locks on them.

I have taken locks like this one off with nothing more than a good vise grips really hog them down tight on it. I have also done it with an oversize impact socket and a few taps from a hammer as mentioned, but you have to be careful as you don't want to ding the wheel or break something from the impact.

Another way i have done it on some is take a grinder and put a flat on two sides and then use an open end wrench on it. Seems like a lot of people running around with wheel locks on and no key to get them off, especially when they bought it used, etc...

Oh and Welcome!!

All 5 wheels on my KJ had locks when I bought it. Decided to keep em on since I have the optional(and very expensive to replace) chrome-clad wheels. I ain't interested in having those stolen.

All 5 locks are from Mopar(still have the Mopar package the 5 locks came in) but I guess Mopar gets them from McGard which explains the card.

Check also on your tire iron under the rear seats... mine is attached to it with a little zip tie holder type thingy. :D
