i just received a replacement set of chrome "JEEP" emblem letters.... the ones on my liberty are peeling. the replacements are a 'hard' plastic?? the original on my mine are made out of some sort of pliable rubbery-plastic... i think to form to the curve of the hood. i am hesitant to replace them this the hard plastic until i know if the will stick properly... any one know if JEEP changed the plastics for some reason?

Don't like it without the badge? I had mine off for a while and it actually looks nice.

any pics with out emblem? i actually think i'll try it... my only concern is what i'll find when i remove the letters... after 5 years of paint fade.
also, i'm guessing removal requires heating the emblem up with a hair dryer and prying off with dental floss.... any tips would be appreciated though.

Dental floss to saw through the adhesive if they aren't loose enough to pull off, then one of those pinstriping erasers to remove the rest, or a bit of oops or goo gone to clean it up, a little polish and wax, and it will blend it away. I've done that before on other vehicles i have owned.

My Jeep emblem was missing on the hood when i bought it, i don't miss it, i think it looks nice without it. The only emblems i have is the 3.7L and 4x4 on the tailgate.

It is easier on the hood then the rear. Rear gets scratched easily.. Hood gets hot quickly, and it can take more beating, the badge will peel right off. I actually did not peel mine off, I had to get the vandalism corrected, so I got the whole hood painted, and I asked them not to stick a new badge on.

Sorry about the pic quality, for some reason i stopped carrying digital camera with me.
Here they are:

I forgot all about that, you were the one with the keyed hood a while back right?? Looking good now!

You won't regret it...

I'm sure eventually my rear badges will go as well once they start to fade and peel. I see that on other KJ's around here, the emblems are part chrome and part white plastic as they peel.
