This just developed yesterday and I am hoping someone can shed some light...
I have a 03 Liberty Sport and when I drive over speedbumps, 90% of the time there is a loud squeek (I think coming from the front). It almost sounds like a dog squeek toy when you just squeeze it once but don't let go. It happens just as the tires go up on the bump.
I haven't heard it over any other kind of bumps or potholes, so it seems to need the 3-4 inches of a speedbump.
Any idea where I need to look?

Do you have the stock struts or has the front been replaced/lifted?

okay, just spray it all over them or does it have to get under/inside them?

When you look at front of libby, rod runing from LCA toLCA goes through rubber bushings, spray the bushings themselves, where the rod goes through.

lca? sorry, i haven't done much work on the Jeep so far so I'm not too familiar with it. I can look it up in the Haynes when I get home.

ah ok. so does this mean that at some point the bushings will need to be replaced or do they regularly need to be sprayed?

ok, so there is nothing to worry about with it getting worse or needing to be replaced? any reason it would just randomly start happening now?

They wear / dry out. Just like any 2 parts that move with respect to each other for a period of time.

Didn't TJKJ recommend against silicone spray because it will contribute to damaging the bushings?

I have the same problem on both of our Jeeps. I plan on cleaning up the sway bar bushings this weekend and lubing them up with some silicone spray.
