Should be a simple track adjustment. Maybe a regulator....:)

I'm not sure about how to adjust the window track, but you can get the regulator on line.

I'd get the track fixed, and if it still doesn't work, get a new regulator.:)

Remove the interior door panel and then pull back the plastic glued over the inside of the door to see what its doing, roll it up and down and see if the regulator arms are staying at the same height. Looks like a pair of scissors. Make sure the track the glass sits in front and back are not loose and the glass hasn't come out of the track. I had that happen on a Dodge Neon we used to have, the front edge of the glass would fall out of the track. Turned out one of the little supports for the track was broken, i took it out and drilled through the track into the little support bracket and put in a pop rivet and put it back together, worked like a charm.

I don't know if the KJ has any common failures on the track or regulator?? Maybe someone else can chime in without having to do some google searches.

Happened on my '06 too. Regulator went bye-bye. It's a real problem on the '06s and '07s.

Had one of mine replaced already.

There's one a street down from me, it's an 01-05 model. For months the rear passenger window was out on it, after a few weeks they put a black garbage bag over it. Eventually it got fixed. THen a few months later the other one broke and they put plastic over it. Then a few weeks later, plastic was on the other one.

what does it mean if the motor screams like it is being stepped on and the window doesn't move? Happen to me today on my driver rear. Now I have to frickin take it to the frickin dealer. Hopefully the window is up enough to keep the rain out.

Yeah, it should be. If you just do a search for window regulators on the site, you'll see it is probably one of the most common issues to plague the KJ. I don't know why Jeep continued to utilize a part that was clearly faulty in its' design, but I guess that could be partly why the company needs bailed out in the first place. I've had two replaced and I have one window that I am very careful with because I suspect it is about to go out as well.
