Power window auto down problem

Hi - new here. I have an 04 Jeep Liberty Limited with 101,000 miles. The window, driver side front would not go down until I put some light oil on the regulator and around the top seal. Now it will go up and down but I can hear a grinding noise when it’s all the way down until I reverse the switch. The switch has an auto down function. The window is still connected to the regulator. Will replacing the regulator fix the problem?

Likely it will. That grinding is usually the cable that moves the plastic clip flailing about. Might also be the plastic tubing that guides the cable has broken.
