I am looking for a roof rack for my 02 Liberty. I have the stock one (those 2 rails) but I want to get one that can actually hold things. Does anyone have any suggestions or maybe has one they would recommend?

Thanks.

What do you plan on putting up there? I just bought this rack from e-trailer for $159- free shipping! I like it cause it sits low and has the look I wanted.

Sweet. Thanks guys. I would just be throwing luggage up there. My wife and I are having our first child and we have 2 dogs. Little jack Russel terriers. I just want enough room in the car for the family (dogs included). The Rola rack looks perfect for me. Thanks again. Nice "racks".

Okay... so in researching this a little more, I do not have the "cross bars" on the 2 roof rails already there. I am guessng that I will need those. When I order a rack will they come with it or do I need to make some?

No I didn't do a how to thread sorry.

I used 1" square stock steel, 4 utility u-bolts from Napa, cut the steel 42" in length and measured and drilled for the roof rails mounting location. Painted them Gloss Tremclad black and fitted 4 chair leg plastic feet from a hardware store.

KJ924, looks great. I have enjoyed the basket myself, it is holding up well and it gets used! I have had all kinds of things up there like lumber, fishing gear, strollers and luggage.

Thanks..I like this basket. Although, I can't get through the touchless car washes any more due to the lift and basket.:p
