Ok, so I decided I was going to detail my rig today because I've been slippin' on the clean factor. Alright well I just washed it and shami'd it off, so I drug out my shop vac and was startin' to vacum. I felt the carpet on the drivers side seemed damp so I was like wth? I pulled up the trim that goes down the side of the seat, and the kick panel lifted up my carpet and water dripped off of the carpet pad... and I'm not talking a little water, ALOT! So i was like well crap so I pulled up the carpet best I could trying to see how far the wetness went. I felt all the way over to the trim around the shifter and once it started going up the side to the shifter it was still dry so then I started feeling toward the back and it just kept going! So I grabbed my tool set and unbolted the seat because I knew it must go back atleast that far, but once I got all the bolts out I noticed the seat belt was attached with a star headed bolt. All the star sockets I had were too little so then I had to hop in my truck go to town to Advanced Auto Parts and get a sock to fit, I knew it was a T47 size and they were sold out of the single T47's so I had to buy a whole set for $27 but it came with T0-T65 which was like 14 sockets and I think they're like $3 individually so I saved about $15 buying the pack but it was still kinda a pain. Anyway so I go back home take off the seat belt, take out the seat, pulled up the carpet it was soaked from the pedals to the rear seat mounts. So I ran a bungee cord from one of the mounting holes in the carpet to the back passenger side door to keep it held up. I went in and got the dehumidifier from my basement and plugged it up to and extension cord threw it in the back seat and turned it on high! Hopefully it will do the trick I put it in there about an hour ago its on a 4 hour timer so I'll go check it in a bit and see if anythings happening. I just thought that was some junk lol so I wanted to tell everybody haha.
Ok, so I just noticed I didn't tell why this happened haha. Well I bought my KJ in October of 08 and put my sub and amp I had in my truck in it. It was a quick job so I ran the power cable to the amp through the door jam instead of taking the time to run it through the firewall and I left it ran that way up until last week when I decided I was sick of seeing it in the door jam. So when I had it ran through the door jam the door seal wasn't sealing good and water was getting in around the cable running down the door trim and into the carpet it was like this for probably 3 months and I washed it about once a week so it went through about 10 or so high pressure washes just pouring water into the carpet. So the wash today wasn't the problem because the seal works works fine now I just noticed it today.
