I just scored an EVIC from a wrecked '05 with the part number of 56010520AD. The only thing I know about it is that it has sunroof controls, I'm not sure if it has Homelink and/or TPMS or the pixel-based display. Does anyone have this model? Searching around the net did not yield any info and my local Jeep dealer's parts dept. could not tell me anything other than it's a module for a 05-07 Liberty.

If it has TPMS, I'm going to order the sensors while I wait for the unit to arrive.

Well if it is out of a KJ, it definitely has the pixel display. All EVICs have that, the OTIS is the one that doesn't You're just going to have to wait until it comes and is installed to find out if it has the other features unless someone is familiar with the part number. I hope you remembered to request the mounting bracket it was attached to because 05+ did not come with one.

Thanks for the info on the mounting bracket. I'll just have to wait and see if it comes with it. If not, I'll pick up one from one of the Mopar parts stores online.

2005 EVIC arrived today. Homelink and TPMS. The mounting bracket should be coming early next week so I could not install it, but I did rig it up to see if it works and voila, it does! Temp, MPG, etc. The unit did not nag me about tire pressure on startup which is a different behavior than some of the other EVICs out there (I do not have the LABS option on my build sheet.) I only knew that the TPMS was reading nothing by scrolling through the menu until I saw the vehicle avatar with "--" next to each wheel.

Titan, could you look up the part number for the TPMS receivers that reside in the wheel wells? I was poking around in the engine bay and found some wiring that terminates at a sensor of some sort in both front wheel wells. I looked up the "sensors'" part number online at makeitmopar.com and it comes up with "Part not found."

Again, make sure you take the 0 off the front. Something quirky about their system gives you the error when you put the 0 on the front of stock parts, even though that is their part number. So all those 013------ part numbers need to just be 13------. I will look into the sensors tomorrow. Sorry, but it is 4 am here on the east coast and my hands are tired and blistered from cutting, twisting, soldering, crimping, heatshrinking and taping EVIC wire looms for the last 5 hours. They really do take a long time if you want to do them right. I live such the active single life Friday night, huh?

Apparently Jeep thinks that the 07 also comes with an OTIS now, even though they call it an EVIC. Look closely at the screenshot from their site ;)

Almost forgot about your part numbers. I am going to assume you meant the TPMS sensors for the wheels, even though my instincts are telling me you want the receivers that go in the wheel well for communicating with the sensors and reporting it to the BCM. The TPMS sensors are 68001696AA and should cost you under 30 bucks each so don't get ripped off.

Before you do anything, you really need to scrutinize the service manual and figure out how easily, if at all possible, it is to add in the radio receivers in the wheel wells, associated wiring, any relay necessary with the BCM and god knows what else. I really don't know what is involved in this project and I would STRONGLY recommend you find someone who is honest and familiar with the system to tell you how feasible it is. Every service tech will tell you something can't be done, no matter how simple it is. Case in point, a simple snip of the headliner and splicing 4 wires to add in an EVIC in the Liberty. Replace a clock spring and add some switches and you have steering wheel mounted audio controls. They claim you cannot add the factory UConnect system, that is the mirror based one that works over the system's radio, yet I did it in my Charger, and very easily. Next up is adding it to the Liberty. It required a ton of wire running all over my dash and 15+ splices, but it CAN be done. The wiring it all connects to is there, just not the wires to bridge the gaps and the wiring CANNOT BE BOUGHT. Long story short, find someone reputable and knowledgeable that will completely level with you and explore every option before saying this cannot be done, IF you cannot decipher the Service Manual and prove to yourself that you can do it. And when you lay your hands on a 2006 SM, lemme know, I might want a gander at one myself ;) I guarantee you it canbe done. Hell, even if you have to replace a BCM, that still makes it possible ;)

I definitely can read a service manual. I rebuild motors from the bearings up, tune turboed motors, recondition entire car interiors, do body and paint, etc. I guess I just need to buy a 2007 Liberty service manual. What I though might be the TPMS receivers actually are airbag deployment sensors. I doubt that the TPMS infrastructure is in there since TPMS is not even an option in a 2007 Sport. Oh well, I'll just have to live with the "--" reading on the EVIC.

Shame to have to buy one, but with a 2007, you don't have any other options. At least get an electronic copy and save a couple bucks, plus you will have it handy to help out other 07 owners around here if you are so inclined. Wonder how subtle the differences between the 06 and 07 are ...... O:). I really don't think you will have an issue adding TPMS, despite it not being available AT ALL on Sport models. That does not mean the most basic infrastructure is not there. I imagine all you really need in the grand scheme of things is the Premium BCM, which you can always buy if need be, and then add in the parts yourself. Service Manuals cure all and it will definitely show you what is needed to add in whatever you are missing. Kind of got me curious as to how it works now, myself, even though I already have it. I have a penchant for completely dismanteling my vehicles for no reason just to see where stuff is...usually without reading or owning the service manual upon my first foray.

I have a premium BCM according to the documentation I have found (I have keyless entry and fog lights) so that is step one. That might be the reason that the EVIC doesn't scream at me about the lack of TPMS on startup. When I'm inspired, I might take the time to do all of the research, but I would imagine that it's going to cost >$300 to buy the wheel sensors and receivers and that is if I have the wiring in place. This is a project for "down the road" At least I scored a working EVIC. I am happy about that.

If you got an evic from an 05 to 07, the part number for the sensors are different from the 04. with the 04, a magnet was required to train the sensors, where 05 to 07 models did not requre the magnet. If you have the steel wheels on your sport, the tire pressure sensors will not work with them, as they only work with vehicles with the aluminum wheels (transmission interference I think?). I have an 04 Rocky Mountain edition, and ordered my transmitters through some dealer's website in KC and had the dealership install them the last time I had my state inspection done. Mine work just fine with the unit. Have you driven around with your Evic yet, because mine took about 5 minutes of driving when I 1st installed it before I got the "sensor missing" chime on my console.

I have aluminum wheels so that is not an issue. The problem is that I don't think that I have the receivers(triggers) in the wheel wells that receive the in-wheel sensor signal.

So let me ask you this...did your Rocky Mountain Edition have the pressure idiot light on the dash or nothing at all? And once you installed the wheel sensors, the EVIC started reading them? The reason I ask is that if you did not have the idiot light and was able to get TPMS working with just adding an EVIC and tire sensors, there might be hope here.

TPMS is not even an option in the '07 Sport so I'm doubting that the receivers (not the wheel sensors) are in there.

I was under the impression that the reciever was built into the Evic. Is this not the case? Can someone verify?

On the KJ, that may be the case; or any vehicle with an overhead console. On my Charger, however, the EVIC is actually a screen that is part of the instrument panel, not a large autonomous unit, and cannot be added or removed, even if you buy an EVIC equipped gauge cluster. It is more of a screen which interacts with various components of the car, which all interact with the CANBUS computer network. It's a very complex vehicle, which renders aftermarket part swapping impossible on everything, even stuff like AMPs...the stock AMP interfaces with CANBUS...of course. This being the case, it has receivers in the car to communicate with the TPMS valve stems. I had initially assumed this to be the case in the KJ since I have the full 10,000 page LX platform service manual - YES, ten thousand pages (I told you it's a complex vehicle) - and am familiar with the LX in and out, but in the absence of having a 2006 or 2007 KJ service manual, and having had my Limited equipped with the TPMS from the factory, I have not yet verified the systems involved on the KJ. That is why I recommended he read the Service Manual once he got hold of one to make sure this is the case. I could only assume it worked the same. The more I think about it, the overhead unit COULD have the equipment to communicate with the sensors, hence the added cost and need for a totally different EVIC just to display the pressure, but I still doubt there is nothing inbetween. These sensors have a very limited range on them.

My Rocky Mtn did not have any dash pressure lights, as my tires didn't have the tire pressure sensor. I bought the evic first, then had the tire sensors installed later, and the evic read them just fine. If you have an evic with tpms, all you should have to do is to have the tire pressure sensors installed (dont forget the spare) and you should be ok

I believe stackthepads is correct. Your transmitters go in the wheels and your EVIC unit should take it from there. Wheelwell receivers are part of a different system.

On mine, I had the spare deprogrammed so it was not part of the system -- I didn't want to buy the extra transmitter and installation. But then, I don't rotate the spare into the rotation sequence; if you do, that's another matter.

Well, I installed the '05 EVIC in my '07 tonight. Works great! Since there seems to be a bit of consensus about the EVIC being able to read the TPMS sensors, I ordered a set from makeitmopar.com and they will be installed when I have my BFGs mounted next weekend. I'll post a followup once everything is installed.

There are apparently 2 evic version regarding tpm, one will show actual tire pressure readings, the other will only display a low tire pressure warnings, I am still trying to determine the part number of the one with the actual pressure display

Whoops, sorry about that. The consoles come in three versions: BASIC; WITH HOMELINK; WITH HOMELINK AND TPMS. The EVIC has to be a TPMS model in order to receive the signals. You would know right away once you have the unit installed -- when you scroll through the functions (ie: MPG, DTE, etc.), TPMS will be one of the selections if its available. If so, only then would you be able to use the sensors.

Some EVIC TPMS models: ('02) 56042756AF; ('02/3)...AG; ('03/4)...AI; ('04)...AJ from the Grand Cherokee.

The '05 Liberty models are 56010520 AA; AB; AD. I'm not sure, but suspect the AD is the TPMS model.

Some of the Dodge OTIS models have TPMS starting in "04. The OTIS is a good unit, but not nearly as capable as the EVIC. You can use the module (same plug ins), but as I recall, the case (console) is different.

In any event, if the function doesn't show up on the display, you don't have it.

Keep looking around. If you find one, you can swap it in in 2 minutes and sell your old one.

Just to add to the confusion the 05 parts lisiting I have has the module part numbers as 56010520AD and 56010527AD
