Yet another EVIC question

I'm sure this has probably been addressed somewhere but there are just so many places now to look.

I have a 2004,

So I'm looking for a 2004 EVIC if I want ambient temp right?

but if I go with a 2003 EVIC I'll lose the temp and gain the InstantMPG feature. Is the distance to empty read out part of this feature I assume?

I might find that more useful in the long run.

So a 2003 EVIC installed in a 2004 (from any 2003 year vehicle with a compatible EVIC) have all the funtions working except airtemp?

My understanding is that instant MPG disappeared after 2002, so no, a 2003 EVIC would not give you instant MPG. The 2003 GC EVIC I just installed does not have instant MPG. But, if you watch the Average MPG for a few minutes, you'll see that it's always changing based on conditions. And if you reset it, you can get a pretty good idea of your current MPG.
