When the temperature is below freezing and the Jeep hits bumps or there is any body flex at all, the front windshield makes loud cracking or popping noises. The noise comes from above the rear view mirror in the top center area. When I push on that area of the glass wither from inside or outside there seems to be some play. But once the cabin warms up or the outside temperature is above freezing, there are no noises. Anyone ever heard of something similar? Apparently this is common in Subarus but I can’t find a satisfactory explanation or fix.

If you have any movement in the glass by pressing on it, that is unacceptable.
This can lead to leaks and the 3M windshield urethane is rated down to -70.
Temporarily, you could get the jeep into a warm space and run a fine bead of GE silicone around the top edge.
Glass shops may be able to re & re the windshield.
I've been down this road before on my KJ.
The glass shop was successful in removing and replacing the original
windshield.

Even after the re & re, the KJ shield still leaked. I ran a fine bead of clear GE silicone along the the top edge, and down both sides & leak then finally stopped.
I hope the KK windshield is more co-operative. ;)
