KK hitches will even fit a KJ if you cut the bottom off of the bumper
frames are the same width

Really? I thought that the KK's frames were a little bit wider than the KJ's.

Nope. They played tricks with the sheetmetal to make the vehicle look wider, even though it isn't. I haven't verified this but they (KJ and KK) even look to use the same windshield.
