Who Has Factory Under Hood Light?

They don't seem that common anymore. Even my Titan doesn't have one. You would think so on a $60K truck.

Harbor Freight free flashlights. Keep 2 in the Jeep. A lot cheaper.

And they have a string on the end so you can hang them under the hood like chandeliers. :happy175:

That reminds me of an old joke:

A church out in the country was considering buying a chandelier to spruce the place up. The members debated the topic for hours and wondered whether they could afford to pay for it. Finally, one old guy stands up and says "I don't reckon we ought to buy one until we're sure we got someone who knows how to play the daggone thing".

I added one to mine, I used a switch and wiring out of a WJ. Added an inline fuse and tied it into the pdc under the hood

ok finally here i am adding the pictures.
so i put mine on the drivers side.
got an under hood light and as much wiring as i could from a WJ grand cherokee.
take the light apart, replace the bulb if needed.
i mounted the backing plate to the KJ hood using one of the plastic push in fasteners for the hood insulation. (instead of the sheet metal screw from the WJ light assembly)
ran the wire up (towards the front of the hood) and then behind the insulation towards the master cylinder.
got my wire to kind of "coil up" around the mater when it closes, routed it to the PDC, and hooked it up to one of the nuts there (10mm wrench).
dont forget your inline fuse.
