What Transmission and transfer case do I have?

I have a 2003 Liberty, 3.7L, 5 spd manual transmission, and the transfer case has 2hi, 4hi, N, 4L (like the wrangler shifter)

It looks like the bell housing bolts to the transmission and is not integral.

I am more familiar with the Wrangler stuff and it looks like an NV 3550 to me but I would like some expertise on it.

Nv231j transfer case
Transmission is either the 5speed nv1500 or NV 3500. Depends on the 1st gear. If it has a bulldog unsynchronized 1st it's the nv1500

You have the NV3500 trans and 231 t-case.

Check the round red/silver tag on the tcase. On the rear face, toward left side. It will say exactly what it is.

Our 2005 has a NP241J, but its a 6-speed.

5 speeds got 231J's while 6 speeds got the 241J,only difference is the 241J has a 1/4" wider chain besides that they are identical.
