just a update on our 07 Jeep Libby..we took it to the mech who does indeed specailize in jeeps(capecodjeepclub.org) to see whats up with it..wierd road noise and such..since partner let the 3 month 3k mile warrenty expire and already replaced the rear main seal...

The rumblin noise we are hearing is from the tires..they said they are cupped..doesnt vibrate but since they told us I can hear it, she said we have the crazy expensive tires (wranglers, raised letters??) on them....
good meat on them still left so we are going to deal with it..

2nd they found we need new brakes all around..aka..in about 5-7k they said, now we have 34k on the car but they said 03-06 wranglers, libbys and some newers I guess Jeep used cheap pads because they have seen this before in low milage jeeps..
3rd is there is a hole in the back part of the muffler, which we did have the dealership inspect but they claimed it was fine..but the jeep place said that since we just passed inspection to see if it gets worse aka fix it little later..

told them about the coolant tank looking a little cruddy..he said that normal..or they way it looked..they checked the rest out..******..u joints..cv joints..mary jane joints(just kidding) and they gave it a nice clean bill of health..so besides those minor things..we got us a good Jeep:eek:

whew thank god!

It sounds like you've got a Sport.
For the road noise, it's probably tires from lack of rotation. GOTTA rotate your tires; every 5 to 6,000 for street tires like what's likely on there, 3,000 for aggressive off-road oriented tires.
There's supposed to be a hole in the muffler, too. It's a drain hole for condensation.

Sounds like a sport to me.
And congrats on the clean bill of health!
Oh and I got a 06 and I have had the brake problem, replaced with NAPA rotors and there middle of the line pads and its a great improvement.
Also I have a kinda dirty coolant tank. I may at some point remove it and clean just so it doesn't bother me every time I open the hood, but have been told its not a big deal.
Also the hole in the muffler is great time for a Flowmaster super 44 or magnaflow upgrade :D

Sport definitely. If you have the Wrangler ST's on it, replace them with something that's not going to kill you. Probably the cause of all of your issues. :p :D

The hole isnt the drain hole...yea Ill try to get him to get a magna flow..if its just as cheap as oem...his thinking not mine..Ill have to look at what kind of wranglers are on..the girl at jeep shop said they are crazy exspensive, and with the cupping and noise..im not impressed..the brakes tho..we have no squeeling or brake indacator noise and they stop like new..so hell prob wait till he hears the lite squeal of it brakes...all in all its nothing that HAS to be done right away..I am going to encourage him to do it by winter at lease....it s funny with the muffler, I knew the Libbys had a nice growl but ours was just to growly...now I know why....

I can't think of a positive about Wrangler ST's. Except for the part that they have rubber like a tire should. Otherwise, booooooo!

Can you get a picture of the hole in the muffler?

And of the tires, too?

Wrangler ST's aren't crazy expensive, but they're more expensive than any other tires that ThunderbirdJunkie wouldn't put on a wheelbarrow (rotflmao)
