I have a 2007 with a manual transmission. Fuse #39 (10A turn signals/backup lamp switch) keeps blowing. I just replaced the backup lamp switch that goes into the transmission underneath hoping that was the problem, but it wasn't. Any other suggestions on what to check?

I pulled the center console out to access the wiring underneath. The red wire that goes to fuse #39 got pinched in the parking break mechanism and had exposed wire that must have been contacting metal. I cut the bad part out and spliced it back together. So far so good.
