Looks like im going to have to rebuild my T-case. It grinds the majority of the time when i try to put the jeep into drive and when im slowing down or cruising at a constant speed on a flat road it clunks jumps and grinds.

I want to do some upgrades while im in there... im the kind of guy who will probably keep this jeep forever.... my other car is a 1995 S10 with 280,000 miles on it lol

which of these two upgrades would be best
this 6 planetary gear paired with a rebuild kit
upgrade (P/N 29-2321) | Advance Adapters

OR... a heavy duty chain and sprocket kit paired with a rebuild kit
(P/N 29-2320) | Advance Adapters

Also if it will work with my T-CASE i would like to add a 2wd low kit...
TeraFlex NP231 2WD Low Range Kit, TERA-2204000 - JeepinOutfitters

which upgrade would you guys do? and will a 2wd low kit work in the KJ?

Thanks!

You will need to do some "fab work"
For the 2wd low kit to work but it will
as long as you have the 231 case

I would do the HD chain
This will basically give you a 241 less a little
oil
I would also do the 2wd low kit

Im going to do the 2wd low kit.... but what would need to be done to make it work? just modifying the linkage or what? The heavy duty chain kit sounds like my best bet.... i just want to do either the 6 gear upgrade or the chain kit for some added reliability.... i just cant afford to do both if im gonna ad the 2wd low kit right now

I did a tera 4-1 in my old 231 low kit with a trailblazer chain sproket 1.25in vs 1in in my xj after it hit 250k I drove it for 60k more with that setup and no problems.

to solve all problems get an atlas 2 or if money is tight a np241or

I like the idea of the 4:1 low kit id love to do it...... my only question is would it be useful in a kj only running little 31's i mean im not gonna be climbing any boulders unless i do an SFA setup..... which i don't see happening in the near future.... However if it could be useful im all for it

Problem with the 4-1 kit is by the time
you rebuild the 231 and do the listed upgrades
you could buy the atlas

very true on the atlas part only a few hundred dollar difference by the time its said and done, in your case seems that its not a heavy climber a rebuild of the 231 with the hd chain and 6 gear planetary may be in your best interest.
