I was checking out the EVIC in my Liberty today. So I keep on pressing STEP to cycle through the different info. What I find weird is that it seems to skip over the TPM. It goes from Miles to Service to Blank Screen. In the manual it says it's suppose to go from Miles to Service to TPM to Blank Screen.

Did TPM just disappear?

Also, I've noticed that the EVIC sometimes displays "Spare Low Pressure" just after I start the engine. Usually goes away after a minute.

At first I thought you didn't have the premium system that reads in the EVIC, but I guess you do. I have the base system. I'll check mine tonight.

The EVIC in my '05 doesn't show the pressures. It just shows "spare low pressure" (or which ever tire is low) if one gets low.

I was under the impression that '05s and up didn't show the pressures.

As for the low warning problem, have you checked the air pressure in your spare?

I was under the impression there was 2 different systems. My 05 EVIC does not show it when you are hitting the step button either.

Well according to the brochure, the 28G quick order pkg replaces the Warning lamp with the Display. I'm pretty sure my Liberty has the 28G Quick order pkg since it has all the features that it(28G) contains(leather seats, selec-trac, 6-disc radio, etc). The build sheet however makes no mention of the 28G quick order pkg...

I am truly puzzled. Anyone have any ideas??

As for the spare tire. Well that warning lamp lights up in the instrument panel and the EVIC reads out Spare Low Pressure. It only does that for 10-15 seconds and then dissappears.

When I get home tonight after work, I'm going mesure the spare tire's PSI.

EDIT: After doing some research online, it would seem that the TPM Display is an option. It requires the 28G quick order pkg. It does not come with it. Oh well, no biggie, I'll just check em once a month with a pressure gauge.

According to the brochure, the Premium TPM comes with the 28G package. But after searching online, It seems like the Premium TPM is an optional feature that REQUIRES the 28G quick order package.

So...I only have the base TPM which is the Warning Lamp in the instrument panel and the EVIC displays just a message indicating which tire is low. It does not show the PSI.

I have the base system, and I do have the light in the dash, but no indicator in the EVIC of which tire it is....

The EVIC doesn't tell you which tire is low?

My spare tire is low, so the warning lamp comes on in the dash and the EVIC says "Spare Low Pressure".

I'm confused now...which ******** TPM do I have then?

Alright, I figured it out thanks to a thread on Lost KJs. I have the Premium TPM, but I don't have the 75$ TPM EVIC option which enables the PSI graphic. Oh well...smashfreakB.gif

There are 2 TPMs:

Base - Warning Lamp in instrument panel
Premium - Warning Lamp + Messages in EVIC.

There are 2 EVICs:

Standard - No PSI readout graphic
75$ TPM Option - Graphic with PSI readout

Damn complicated...

Here's my thought:

Base (dash)
Premium (no PSI)
Premium PSI

Well from what I've read, the EVIC without the PSI graphic is different from the EVIC with the PSI graphic. 2 different model numbers. So you have 2 TPMs and 2 EVICs.

Thank you Jeep for confusing the hell out of customers.

That's the one I have.

I wish I didn't even have TPMS.

How hard is it for people to check their tire pressure once a week?

We keep making it easier and easier for people to get more and more lazy.
