Top of the engine open tube?

I have been trying to find out why my face vents don’t work and checking vacuum lines on the process I saw this and didn’t know if I am missing a line, plug or if it is supposed to be like this. It is a stub sticking up on top left rear of engine see picture. Would someone tell tell me if it is the way it is supposed to be. Thank you

What year is this? Looks like a crankcase breather tube.

Missing hose between adjacent flanged pipe ends....???

Missing hose between adjacent flanged pipe ends....???

I thought the same but the tube ends with a plug. I didn’t see any hanging tubes or where it could go

Could it be one of these hoses missing?

I am going to have to look again neither of them are angled down from picture. It may be the hose on the top is missing.
