It's time to give the Liberty an oil change. It is recomended to put 5W-30 in the 3.7. But mine has over 100,000 miles on it. I've heard that older engines should use 10W-30 in the summer (It's about to warm up here). Is it okay to keep useing 5W-30 all year round or should I switch to 10W-30 for the upcoming warmer weather?

I've got over 150K on my 3.7 and have never used anything but 5w-30. I can't really see any advantages to running the 10w. I'd just stick to the 5w-30, you'll be just fine.

I started using 10w because it's starting to burn a bit of oil. The manual says 10w is fine too. I'm at 130k miles (209k KMs)
