My current tires are 255/70-16. They are 29.96" tall and 10.2" wide. Was looking at a set of 245/75-16 that are 30.26" tall and 9.6" wide. Wondering if I'd be better of with the taller skinnier tires as far as power goes or if it would actually equal to about the same. Both weigh 35 pounds

I dont think you can tell the difference very much. It wont be like going from 265/75 to 245/75

Sent with the power of children's screams!!!

Pick which ever gives you the better option for the tires you want to run. 2bobs is running 255 70 and still had the same reagearing wants / needs as the rest of us running 245 75 16.

the 255 fit on 8 inch rims a bit better but if your still on stock 7 inch wide rims neither is a concern.

A more agressive tire will do more then 1 cm in width. I would have liked 255 but the selection was very limited.

Neither is going to be night and day difference like comming from stock.

They will be on 7" wheels. They are on the smaller side compared to most 245/75. I just didn't want to lose any more power than I already have even though it's less than half an inch difference. But I figured it would make up for that by being skinnier

That much width difference will not even be noticeable really in the grand scheme of things. Height is where the real issues come in

When it comes down to it there isn't that much difference in the width that we can run on a KJ anyways
But give me wider, skinnies go on a old Willys
