OK, I will post my idiot question of the day here. I'm finally at the point of reconnecting everything under the hood of the Liberty, but unfortunately there are some key pieces of information missing in the service manual - namely where the hoses for the PCV system connect!
As I was putting things back together, I realized I could not remember which hose went into the small access port on the side of the airbox, and which went into the PCV valve. I could have sworn I took a picture before I disconnected everything, but now cannot find it. I've scoured the manual and online and cannot find anything that gives a clear diagram. (Also for some reason it seems like every single picture online is for a '03 Liberty which has the air intake box on the engine rotated 90 degrees, and throws off my sense of where everything is in comparison to my '04.)
Anyway - if anybody can help a guy out, I'd really appreciate it. Here's what I have so far:
<Passenger Side port behind valve cover>
|---> <breather element>
|---> <hose / T connector>
|---> (duplicate of above for driver side)
|---> ???
<Airbox small port>
|---> ???
<Small port behind main air intake on engine>
|---> ???
So the question is - is the port from the airbox what gets connected to the PCV valve? Or is that what gets connected behind the main engine intake? (Can't post pictures right now - have to wait for the AM when I have light again.) My gut instinct tells me that the T connector is supposed to lead into the airbox, and the port behind the main engine air intake leads to the PCV valve, but I have nothing to support that hypothesis right now.
