Hey Folks,

I just had a quick question on installing aftermarket speakers...

How do I do it?

I am looking at buying a new pair for the front doors, but I wasn't sure how complicated the install is. Any help or instructions would be very useful!

Thank!

Take off the door cards (panels) - do a search; its been discussed.
Unscrew screws holding the speakers in place (I thnk there are 3 or 4 for each)
Snip, snip
Solder or connect wires for new speakers.
Do the reverse.
Peice of cake.

All you'll need is a set of philips heads, wire cutters, the new speakers, and about an hour & a half.

use t splices and you don't have to cut (snip, snip ) the factory wires, then if you ever want to put the old stuff back in (TA DA!) back in no prolems..

I'm not a fan of the t splices. You can splice new wires in by stripping a bit of insulation from the middle of the wire (leaving the connector intact), and soldering the new pigtail on. The whole thing then gets wrapped in electrical tape. Those clip connectors have been problematic for me in the past, I wouldnt wish them on anyone.
