I just tried removing my PCV valve to test if it's clogged. The hose was very tight, and as I pulled it, the connector part of the valve snapped. I won't be able to get hold of a new valve for a few days and I really need to be able to use the Jeep, so after I stopped swearing I rejoined the hose to the valve using duct tape which is rated to 95C/200F.

Is this a safe temporary fix?

You would probably be better off plugging the hose, and then capping off your broken PCV until you can get it replaced.

If you get a leak in your tape job, you will get a fast idle and possible high engine rev, because you now have unrestricted air getting into the intake.
