I have a 2002 that has the factory front skid plate which has worked great for me. Now i'm looking to add more protection. Whad skid plates can i add with out getting rid of the factory skid plate besides gas tank skid. My other question is i'm not to big into rock climbing, with that said is a stronger rear diff. cover needed?

Thanks

There is also a ****** skid plate and T-case skid plate you can add on (Not sure if those are the correct names for the plates) but they bolt up right behind the front skid plate. I think there is a total of 4 skids for the KJ. 3 along the front bottom and then the gas tank. They are OEM made but I don't have the part numbers. Someone else will have to chim in for that.

there are also rock rails that will protect your rockers, and the diff cover isn't something that's really important like the other skids

The problem with the stock ****** skid on a 2002 is they were made for 2005+ libertys. The exhaust on the 2002's with the 45rfe gets in the way of the skid. You can make some spacers so the skid clears the exhaust but then you loose that ground clearance.

The tcase and the gas tank skid will work fine on the 2002.

And what happens with the '03-'04 Libertys with the 42RLE? The exhaust still touches the skid?

Cheers! :)

All you have to do is flatten with a hammer the skid around the exhaust pipe area. That's what i did. no lowering required.
