We're going to get an 06 Durango 4x4 to hold us over till we can get one used and the bugs are worked out...but eventually, we will.

Yep...
If space is a concern....like it is for me, why not get a Wrangler Unlimited 4 Door? I think I have my mind made up on the one I want and it's definitely going to be the Unlimited.
I'm in the same boat as you....I always wanted a convertible but then I also need it to be practical of being a truck for going through the winter snow, and also I need plenty of room. So it's like the Unlimited 4 door is pretty much made for us.
I have to turn in a lease at the end of this month....so I don't have that option of waiting like you do though. No more leasing for me.
You didn't list it in your voting options, but given all your descriptions I would trade in the Durango and get the JK unlimited.
