05 Liberty Limited has slight pause then clunk between 1st and 2nd gear.

Hey, check trans fluid level, add fluid to the high fill line. ATF+4 only.
How many miles on your KJ?
Have you ever serviced the trans filter & fluid?
Yup ATF+4 fluid, check dipstick on level ground after driving it for 20 minutes. Add as necessary to just over full line.
The clunk is concerning, could that be the U-joints on drive shaft? Are the u joints getting hot?
