today at work someone put a note on my kj saying that he had some rustys skidplates for sale that will work on an 02-04 kj, ive got 2 questions though, i went on rustys website and cant find any kj skids so does anyone here know if they ever made them and my second question would be is there any difference between 02-04 skids and the 05-07 skids or are they the same (he says he has engine and transfer case skids)
thanks,
chris

I have the rusty's tank skid on my 03 , basic boxing tank skid, heavy as friggin lead and came with an initially nice looking paint job but one IL winter and the paint rotted off 40% of the tank

by the time i bought my tank skid I seem to remember that they had just discontinued making the trans skid ?

beyond that much.. i dont recall any other details about their trans/engine skids.. I ordered the rustys tank skid and a replacement mopar ****** skid from rustys at the same time so they must have already been out of the trans skid

I have the Rusty's transmission skid - I love it! It's uber-beefy, and I've come down ******* it a number of times, and it's never buckled or dented. Not only does it cover the transmission pan, but it also covers the front driveshaft too.

If the ones you are being offered are anything like the one I have on my KJ, I'd buy them in a heartbeat!

I'll see if I can find something.

EDIT: I'll try to get a picture sometime tomorrow - I don't have anything in my photo archives that shows it well enough.

Get them.

If you decide you don't want the ****** skid, I will drive down there and buy it off you and throw my OEM one away.

well.. not really a jk .. you better hang on to them things.. that's the cheapest good/best protection I've seen anyone buy in a long time besides a rubber..

10 bucks..

Cost about 5 bucks in welding rods to weld them together..

guy must have wanted a new dvd from blockbuster or somethin really bad

well i finally got the skids....as i didnt have the time to get them when he left the note on the jeep back in august i ended not getting them but i emailed him the other day and without batting an eye the guy told me 50 bucks for the 2 skids (transmission and tcase), i just need to get a few pics of how the rustys transfer case skid was designed to bolt up so if anyone here has an 02-04 with the rustys tcase skid please post a pic of it installed showing where all the bolts go
