Need to carry approx 300 pounds of lumber at one time on roof rails, is this within safe limits? Would prefer to do the whole load in 1 trip if possible.

My local lumber yard charges $10 for delivery. I say pay for the delivery even if it's $50 and don't risk overloading your roof rack or having an accident.

Put the back seat down, open the rear hatch, put a blanket against the rubber seal, and another to protect the back of the front seats, load the lumber through the hatch, sticking out. Tie the load together to prevent shifting. I've carried tons of lumber that way.
