Ever since we got the Liberty, there's been countless issues. The rear window was also a problem ;)

To start, during humid or moist days, the moisture seemed to get in to the rear gate handle and cause the rear window to pop automatically when the car was unlocked. Got really bad at one point where I could barely close the window and lock the car in time cause the window would just pop back open lol.

So currently the issue is when I pull the handle to its first notch which would usually pop the glass, it no longer does that. And when I fully pull it open, it doesn't let go of the window. The only way to pop it is the key fob. Which sometimes gets annoying.
Anyone know what part I need to get to fix this? Some say it's just the wiring (part number please?) Some say I need the wiring and handle assembly.

Any help is appreciated!

It's a tiny switch attached to the inside of the door handle held on by a rusty clip. Your switch died. Mine cost $13.00 quite awhile ago.

Keyfob is your new best friend.

Seeing that the key fobs battery is dying and the buttons are a little less responsive, I don't want it to be my only friend.
Any chance you know if that part is still being sold? Or even know what the part number is?

I'll take a look when I beer the shop, and a battery number too.

Bet the switch is available. I wanted to replace the rusty clip that holds the switch to the handle assembly but the dealer told me the new rusty clip could only be had by buying a new $200!00 handle assembly which conveniently came with a free $13.00 switch, and, of course, the inherent desired joy of a new rusty clip.

Micro surgeons who have done a few micro-switch switches can do the switch deed through the small plastic panel in the big plastic panel inside the rear door. The 2 wire connector is near the panel opening; There are 1-3 zipties holding the switch wires to the stamped sheet metal brace angled up to the handle; Handle is held on with a couple of 10mm, (or smaller), nuts. Don't drop them and pull the handle out to see your switch and rusty clip.

Big inside panel uses plastic push connectors along the bottom and sides and then pushes/breaks up at the top.

Fobulous battery number is duracell dl 2032.

No luck on a part number for the switch. Reciept must be lurking in one of my paperwork piles.
