Rear axle on a 2003 Liberty

My 2003 Liberty or Cherokee as we call it here, with a 2.8 crd diesel, has a rear axle which I am unsure of.

I just got message that this Jeep do not have a Dana axle, but something "else" with braking diff.

Could this mean I haven´t Limited slip Diff, and perhapse not able to fit any powrtrax no slip ?

Go out and look at it. If it has a flat bottom then you have the Chrysler 8.25, if the bottom is round, you have a dana 35. You can get a powertrax for the 8.25 no matter if you have a LS or not.. A tag on the right side of the axle by the brakes should tell ya if you have LS or not.

It is different; though I can't explain why or how. But where I see it listed there is an opendiff, and then a trac-loc model of it.

Someone should explain that though.
