Have a friend with a jeep cherokee - it keeps overheating - they have replaced the thermostat and the water pump and it didnt help - does this mean that the radiator is bad?

Is the rad cap holding pressure. If it doesn't allow the cooling system to pressurize the boiling point of the coolant will be much lower. If it boils then it cannot easily transfer heat from the motor to the coolant and then transfer heat from the coolant to the rad.

x2 on air bubbles and new rad cap.Has this jeep ever been flushed properly?
Does this Cherokee have the heater core hoses coming out of the firewall?
Best way to flush it is with a reverse flush kit if possible.
Amazing how much crud is in the overall system, block/cores/overflow bottle after years of work.
