Do the 02-04 front bumpers require a License plate mounting adapter to secure the plate like the 05-07's? I have never notice a 02-04 that has a front plate so I'm not sure. If one is required, where can I get one with out going to a dealer? (unless the dealers have it for a reasonable price)

I have one for my 06 somewhere but I don't think it would work b/c of the different bumper designs.

Thanks guys!

I don't think they cost that much even from the dealer. But Marlon's screwless one sounds like a good deal.

That's the cheapest i have been able to find it. Dealer price is about the same, i just had all this stuff replaced from the deer hit. I can go find my copy of the estimate and i think that even has the dealer part number for it on there.

Some states don't need a front plate so i guess maybe that's why you haven't seen one, around here they all have them before leaving the dealership, from what i was told if the Jeep ended up in a dealer in a state that requires a front plate they put them on before setting them on the lot.

I have a slightly used one, put on brand new for a couple weeks and got cracked by a deer hit, want to glue it?? LMAO

I got one on my 2006, and PA doesn't require two plates, so I am taking mine off. Got to put something in the holes though, so will probably use the license plate LED fasteners, WHITE. Any other color, well, I am begging to be pulled over, AGAIN...

Yep, if you can find one go for it!!

Funny thing is when we got the KJ fixed after the deer hit the bodyshop checked for used parts since the front bumper cover was so high priced, but all the junkyards he knows only had KJ's from frontal impacts so those parts were toast.

Thanks for the reponse guys. I can't believe that thing is $38. I could probably make a Die using mine and make my own for a cheaper price lol

I'll keep your offer in mind marlon.

I bought a Jeep plate that my girl wanted for her KJ and of course her's didn't come with the Front plate adapter but yet it was on there at one time b/c the wholes are in the bumper.

Is there any metal support back under the bumper cover? Been kicking around getting a front license plate bracket on that folds down into a small step. Neighbor has one on his RV. I figured I would have to drill out then use some pieces of pipe or tubing for stiffener, along with some nice long bolts.

Andy, yes there is, but its not DIRECTLY under the bumper cover. There's some plastic and foam under there, then the metal support. But there's not much of that so there shouldn't be a problem.
