Has anyone had an issue where the part time 4wd dash light was on while the car was NOT in part time 4wd, yet off when the car IS in part time 4wd? The 4Lo light works fine. Strange problem...no functionality issues...just the fact that the light is annoying me. Anyone know a quick fix?

Disconnect the batter for a few minutes and reconnect it. If you really have a problem, it'll come back on, but it's probably just glitching.

I doubt that it is "probably just glitching" as this is a very common issue with KJs. As the threads in my posts above suggest it is probably that you need to replace the transfer case position switch.

here is the fix: http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44188

Work distracted from me posting the "disconnecting the battery idea" when I was first going to, so I ended up posting it after you without seeing your post first. Stupid work interfering with my forum posts. lol

I've had glitches happen with my electronics, and disconnecting the batter works like a charm.

FYI - disconnecting the battery worked. Maybe temporarily...but it worked.

Edit: The light is actually completely out now. Ah well I like it better this way.

Update: It actually seems to be working ok now. With slight glitches here and there. Disconnecting the battery did something: definitely not a permanant fix but good enough til I have time to replace the part time switch.
