OK so just why would someone go out and buy a diesel SUV with fuel prices so high? Stupid I guess, but I test drove one and fell in like! I rented a 2004 gas Sport a couple of weeks ago and drove about 900 miles and enjoyed it too but it didn't seem to have as much power and had trouble finding the window controls.
I actually don't have it yet but should get it on Tuesday or so. It took a while to find the color I wanted to drive for a very long time to come. Ended up buying more than I thought I would but there were only three in the Pacific NW to choose from. One was under equipped, the other was too far away and I wasn't sure the old Taurus would make it until the new shipments arrived.
My pick is a Light Khaki Limited with the "G" package, tow Kit, sun roof and heated seats. The dealerships are really hungry right now and the new incentive package is excellent if you haven't seen it. It includes a $2,367 debit card, 2 years free scheduled maintenance and 2 additional years of warranty.
The car is about 300 miles away and over the mountains so I cut a deal with the dealer to drive a new Rubicon or Commander over to trade the other dealer for mine. Saved me $400 and I can get business done along the way. Who knows, that exposure to another Jeep product could even net my dealer another sale down the road if the experience is good.
Thanks for letting a newbie crow. I will let you know how happy I really am after I have sat in it for a few hundred miles. And hey, it looks like some of those will be through the snow. Yipee!
